Projection TV for monitor?

I'm going to buy a 55" projection TV from Mitsubishi this week and I found one of its features is a VGA input. Now I wondering if I hook it up to my computer will the picture be good? If it?s good then I'll hook up my computer to the TV and the sound system. And surf the web from my bed.

I'd be extremely wary of using any kind of projection tv with a computer. Projection tv's are very susceptible to burn-in from still images, so it's possible you may permanently imprint your browser buttons or your desktop image onto the screen.

Because computer video is more often static (non-moving) than not.

I'd be amazed if you could go any higher than 600x800 and still have a legible display. But might not be to bad for occasional use - or some big-screen gaming 😀

I have the mitsubishi 55" 55805 hdtv I have not connected the PC to it yet(and will not), I think it would look ok! However why take the chance of it burning into the screen? Read the manual you get with the tv! Im not ready to toast $3000!

"how come the tv picture wont do that? but a computer picture will?"
Tv and movies have constantly moving pictures, look at your desktop unless your gaming nothings moving! Which is why there is a risk of burning an image on the screen!
