Hmmm

It sounds interesting. I'm not thrilled about the part with the standard cartoony graphics though that Blizzard seems to like. I'm done with seeing that crap.

It's nice to hear about a new IP in the works anyways. We haven't had enough of those lately in my opinion. Hopefully we can expect something fresh out of this.

If Blizzard went for good looking graphics, they'd lose more than half their playerbase. They want you to be able to play their games on the black and white laptop you purchased in 1993.

WoW was used in some eSports leagues and it was their Arena combat. I don't know how they set it up though, because I'd imagine not every team was in the same battle group and unless blizzard gave them a ptr style server where they could all copy their characters, it might have been emulation (which is not 100% accurate).

Blizzard set up private servers for the event and players were given pre-generated characters to remove gear disparity.

I figured it was something like that. Were they giving the gear of their current characters or whatever the top available gear at the time was or could they choose?

Gameplay-wise, it's going to be an MMO, set primarily in the third-person (with a first-person perspective during events). Players will be treated to a completely new game engine, tab targeting, and all the other trappings one would expect: Blizzard-style graphics, "clan" housing, and an auction house. Most interestingly, the game's being designed with eSports in mind.

Last, but certainly not least, the development team currently consists of approximately one hundred fifty people, and includes Jay Wilson in its ranks.

DOOOOOOOMED I say! doomed.

Seriously though, I dont have great faith in Jay wilson.
He was behinde the mess that is diablo III.

Current Blizzard games = Gorgeous CGI movies with teen drama writing + cartoon-like game graphics + micro-transactions.

I haven't been a fan of anything they've done in a while.
