Project Natal demoed on Jimmy Fallon Show last night

Link - I'm not sure why they are wearing the orange jumpsuits...of course, I'm also not sure why Kudo Tsunoda wears sunglasses inside all the time either. Who does he think he is, Tomonobu Itagaki or Bono?

The first part of the video shows them demoing that breakout game while the second part shows them playing Burnout Paradise.

People can hate on Jimmy Fallon all they want but you have to give him props for having lots of video game segments on his show.

This is the first time I've ever seen it in action, and I am amazed. That looks fun.

Can't wait to see how this evolves as it gets closer to release.

On an off note, I think late night hosting suits Jimmy Fallon's style and think he's an entertaining host. I haven't watched much of him, but his interaction here and the interview with, I think, the Engadget guy regarding the Pre were funny and entertaining.

Gotta admit it looks fun, at least in a capacity similar to most casual Wii games. Honestly I'm looking forward more to PS3s motion controls just cause I can't really see how Natal is going to appeal to core gamers for things like FPSes, Action RPGs, etc. Now... make a 2D fighting game with Natal and I'll jump on board. Hehe.

You gotta admit they all looked like they were genuinely having fun up there.

As for the jump suits it's probably to ensure they have the best performance for the demo.

My guess is that it's because the band is behind them, and the solid orange outlines of their bodies help tremendously in capturing their movements. I can't imagine it'd be easy for the camera to distinguish between their clothing and the myriad of colors and shapes behind them. Not a typical household backdrop.

Looks cool but I think there is a lag between their movements and the in-game movements that is going to make games, which require precise timing, to be rather frustrating.

Actually, it was for laughs.

When Kudo Tsunoda took to the stage on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon earlier this week he and everyone else playing the game were decked out in matching red jump suits, leading some to speculate it was because of tech issues.

Not so, says Microsoft. The red jump suits had nothing to do with Natal's difficulty in picking up certain types of clothing or to compensate for the studio lighting, it was just a joke.

"Actually, the red jumpsuits were just for laughs," a Microsoft spokesperson told Kotaku. "The Jimmy Fallon crew wanted something funny for the guests to wear and decided on red jumpsuits and turtlenecks. We just wonder if the red jumpsuits will start a new fashion trend."

No. No, they won't.

It's kind of funny they did that because a rumor got started based off of post from an IGN board that Natal...didn't like black people (couldn't read dark skin tones) because N'Gai Croal had some troubles using it. It was the poster just making a joke though as there is a video of Sugar Ray Leonard and another black athlete using Natal just fine.

The burnout demo was the best thing they could have done for me. Showing an existing game requiring near instaneous response being able to use Natal competently, convinces me that the technology might be worth anticipating.

With another year of development, this could be something nice. It will still be limited in use... anyone that's tried boxing knows that most people would be dead after a round boxing by actually moving your arms and body.

Anyone that's not an athelete is going to be tired out trying to simulate movements nonstop in a game. I would love to make passes in madden by moving my arm though.

That's not at all like I thought it was. Seems just like a glorified eye toy that was on the PS2, and that thing was fucking garbage

Im pretty excited to see what it will be able to do once people get to use it more.... and there are a bunch of "celebs" using natal back at e3 up on youtube (posted by ms).... they also mirror what you saw about them looking like they were genuinely having fun with it. http://www.youtube.com/user/xboxprojectnatal (you have to view all to see the celeb videos)
