Project CARS

So I got project CARS yesterday, expecting the graphics to blow me away... But it barely even scratched the surface. The car models themselves look phenomenal, but the tracks, and environment leaves A LOT to be desired.. For example: Nurbugring. What is with this cardboard trees that you can drive into? And the grass is a joke.. Might as well not have them sticking up and just give it realistic textures. It's unlit, and ruins the graphics... Plus the shadows seems off too...

And what really annoys me is how the cars (during replay mind you) doesn't look connected to the track they're driving on! And the effects look ridiculous. Puffs of flat smoke? poorly animated sparks and debris? Come on... Maybe I'm just expecting too much, but Forza 5 (before Xbox one ruined it -- during the touring and when it was running on a PC) looked A LOT better than this!

I assume this is with everything maxed out? I haven't played this since an old build roughly 2 years ago but I'm not hearing a lot of good things about this game at all. From the glitches that record wins as second place or worse finishes to problems with controllers not functioning properly, to some poor graphics decisions you mention.

Project CARs looks better statically but Forza 5 actually has environments where the crowd and pieces like flags flutter in the wind. It looks more dynamic and realistic even if it looks slightly worse in a static image.

Either way, PC games will look lifeless next to console games probably until DX12 rolls around. Too much CPU bottleneck compared to consoles with the current DX11 API.
