Project 64 won't load

I just downloaded project 64k to play some friends online in some super smash bros. Whenever I open it, it says: Direct3d failed to initialize your HAL device. Make sure you have a properly configured 3d graphics card compatible with Direct3d 6.0. Then another window says: Failed to initialize graphics. I have a Geforce 7900GT with DX9 drivers installed and games like bf2 and FEAR run just fine. This emulator also works with my laptop which has Intel Extreme graphics 2, but not with my 7900GT, any ideas? Thanks.
