Progs won't Uninstall

I am retiring from gaming for a while so I decided to get rid of some stuff.

In Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, there are a bunch of programs that it is not listing for some reason. I know I have the programs installed, but they do not show up on the list. I just noticed this the other day. Some of these programs don't have an uninstaller in their folder, and I want to get rid of some of them. Any idea what would cause this?

Also, stuff isn't uninstalling. Like I try to uninstall Far Cry using the uninstaller in the start menu, but it's still there after it says I uninstalled it. I can still play it and everything. So I put one of the game CDs in, but it will only give me the option to Install. The same thing is happening with Doom 3. Far Cry is actually on the Add/Remove Programs list, but it doesn't give me the Change/Remove button when I click on it. Doom 3 isn't even on the list.

3dmark2001, 3dmark03, and 3dmark05 will all not uninstall. When I tried to uninstall them (using the Start menu since they are not on the Add/Remove Progs list), they each gave me the prompt at the end like I had just installed it except for 3dmark2001. It gave me some stupid prompt telling me to insert a disc with data.cab on it or something, so I clicked cancel and it killed the whole uninstall. I tried to uninstall it again and it couldn't find "setup.exe" to begin the uninstall. All the .exe's are still there, and I can run them as if I never uninstalled anything. What the hell is going on?

I haven't formatted in 6 months. Is Windows just going to the crapper on me?

If a program does not use the proper Windows installer, it will not be flagged for de-install.

Ok, but why do I have this problem? I've never had a problem before with all my installed programs showing up on the Add/Remove programs list.

I had a similar problem with FarCry. Couldn't get rid of that SOB! It wouldn't even let me uninstall it from the menu. I resorted to a third party uninstaller (Your Uninstaller! 2004) I still had to bite the bullet for FarCry and deleted all the folders, then ran a registry cleaner. There was a site with some info on a possible fix for the windows uninstaller but I do not remember what it was. Tried searching for fixing windows uninstaller, but multiple programs came up. If all else fails do a reinstall of windows.
