progs @ startup

How can I change or control which progs load on boot up. I am running windows XP Home.

Open your start menu, go to run and type msconfig You'll see one of the tabs is called startup, you can untick what you don't want to run at startup.

go into the registry to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and RunOnce. just edit what programs are in here to what starts up and what doesn't. there are also some programs that are called from the startup folder in program files. make sure to backup your registry before you edit. bad things can happen if you don't.
