Progressive Scan on Non-HDTV's?

Last month's issue of Official X-Box Magazine claims that some non-HDTV's can do 480P.

Is this true? If so, which TV's.

If I were to guess, I'd think that maybe a Wega or any other TV that supports vertical compression (like the Anamorphic support that WEGA's have) might be able to do it.

I'd try it on my Wega, but I dunno if I could do long term damage. Any info guys?

Dont worry about damage. It will look right or not. If it does, then your set is compatable. If not, then it will look wrong. I think there were a few sets made that could do that. There were DTVs made that could accept and display a progressive DVD or satellite signal. With the price of HDTVs coming down, it makes no sense to by one unless you can get it cheap (real cheap) on clearance or something.
