Progressive Believes Calling White Man A "Hard Worker" Is Offensive/Insensitive

Melissa Harris-Perry never ceases to amaze me. In this video she gives us great insight into how a progressive mind is able to rationalize a very twisted world view. She's obviously intelligent, which only goes to show you that mental depravity is not related to one's IQ. Also, I thought I'd bring attention to the fact that mental illness awareness week was observed earlier this month and we need to be sensitive to the mental problems that commonly affect those with extreme political perspectives...which unfortunately is not uncommon here.

And I'm sure that Melissa would agree with you if that gives you any consolation.

No she'd have a problem with "gobble". She has a picture of slaves eating a meal and its all pigs feet, turkey necks and parts of food no slave owner would eat. Gobble reminds her of this.

Yup. Liberals don't gobble up partisan bullshit anywhere near as much as conservatives do.

Exactly, you're not gonna get liberals in here defending her saying this. Unlike when Fox News says absurd bullshit and you get all the conservatives jackasses in here defending.

Bada-bing! There's no chance she'll be running against the Donald.

OTOH, if Righties valued hard work as much as they claim they wouldn't fritter away the hours posting here.

Maybe not on this forum, but her idea is not unheard of either. This idea would fall under a Microaggression toward blacks which is supported by many on the left. I would not say its a majority, but it is not uncommon either.

But, you will get far more lies on the right vs the left. The left really likes gray and the right just goes for broke.

Anything will be twisted into a privilege issue and will rub up against slavery. Some how she managed to fit working mothers without healthcare in there too.

Wow talk about mis-conscrewing a point.

Her point was Paul Ryan goes to Congress and is considered a successful hard worker.

A single mother working 2 jobs because she is poor while a hard worker is considered a failure by society.

No one was even close to that conversation. She has ADHD at the very least, but is most likely a pandering, disingenuous person who will use any segue possible to try to relate slavery and misogyny to an unrelated discussion.

Wow.

Here is what she said.

“I just want to pause on one thing, because I don’t disagree with you that I actually think Mr. Ryan is a great choice for this role, but I want us to be super careful when we use the language ‘hard worker,’ because I actually keep an image of folks working in cotton fields on my office wall, because it is a reminder about what hard work looks like. So, I feel you that he’s a hard worker. I do."

“But in the context of relative privilege, and I just want to point out that when you talk about work-life balance and being a hard worker, the moms who don’t have health care who are working. But, we don’t call them hard workers. We call them failures. We call them people who are sucking off the system.”

The guy's comment was that Ryan was a good choice for the role because he was a hard worker. He did not state a value judgement, but he did claim that Ryan worked hard.

Her contention was that he should be careful when using the term "hard worker" and then went off on a tangent that made no sense.

Ill give you an example. You said "mis-conscrewing" (misconstruing) and I think you should be careful. Many people justify racism because they say black people's actions can be misconstrued and its their fault that people react to those actions. Really, its blacks fault for peoples reactions because they should change how they are perceived.

See, the discussion was on a totally different topic, and I took your statement and put it in a different context that might be important but had nothing to do with the context of the original point.

The guy simply said that Ryan would be a good fit for that position because he worked hard, and she made it about other people that work harder.

Yes in tourette's like moment crowbar her point into the conversation but just pointing out the inaccuracy of the OP title.

I bet it is politically incorrect. You're not supposed to be a hard worker. You're supposed to not work at all. You're supposed to get on welfare, food stamps, medicaid, and section 8 housing. You're supposed to eat GMO, take every vaccine, and drink all the fluoridated water you can. And vote democrat. And when the system implodes after all the hard workers are gone, you're supposed to offer yourself and your stunted children up as a human blood sacrifices to the pagan god Moloch who your leaders worship. Isnt it obvious?

Well, you just made it clear that Melissa Harris-Perry's observations about right wing headsets are right on the money.

Good job!

Wow, I'm going to stop you there. We need to be very mindful of using the word "tangent." Leibniz first described a tangent line and he never married, so he hates women. When you use the word "tangent" you are actually saying you hate women.
