Ok, I just got the MacBook laptop.

I downloaded a video file (.avi) but it says file format isn't recognized.

I opened the iTunes but it does not allow me to import this video file. Can't do no nothin.😛

I downloaded the MPlayerX. Icon placed on my desktop. I clicked on it, it does nothing.... It won't open. What am I supposed to do? Does it require some magic to open the program??? 😉

I downloaded the MPlayer OSX Extended, again, it's placed on the desktop but you click on it, it won't open. What the hell is going on here.. why did Apple make things so difficult. Wouldn't it make sense for the program to open when you click on it???? lol

Please help.:colbert:

Did you download mplayerx from the Mac App Store? Also, can you give us some screenshots of what you are talking about? CMD+Shift+3 should be for the full screen, CMD+Shift+4 changes your cursor and you can select an area

Yes, it was downloaded from the apple app store. It then installed the icon on the desktop screen. I simply clicked on the icon but it doesn't do anything. I'll try what you recommended about pressing CMD+Shift thing. thnx

I got it to work. Once I click on the icon (MplayerX for example) on the desktop, the File menu at the top of the screen shows up "MPlayerX" and it then gave me the option to browse and open the video file. It is playing the video file flawlessly... 😀 Oh man this looks good! I tell ya this Mac OS is very different than Windows OS. It's something I'll have to get use to. Thanks Stu!

You'll get the hang of it. I prefer Windows as far as opening and closing programs, but OSX is pretty sensible once you use it for a while.
