Programming/Modeling Usage wait for 1gb 4870?

Just wondering if anyone has some commentary on this, from a 3d game programming/modeling standpoint would it be beneficial to wait for a 1gb version of the new 4870? Gaming-wise I run on a 22" 16x10 res so I don't think it will have an impact there, but seems like it could help if I'm messing around with object texturing etc. Thanks!

I think it would be worth waiting to see some benchmarks. We have learned that the 1 gig versions of the 8800GT have provided almost no increase at all (at least with games).

I think it really comes down to the intensity of what you are modeling, but if I had to guess, with your resolution, the current 4870 would be fine.
