I've never been really good at programming. I do enjoy it though but issues have risen.
I bombed assembly and I couldn't complete 2nd tier C++, it's just really hard for me to comprehend pointers and all those other things beyond.
Where I really do well is VB.NET. I love the syntax and it's very clear to me just reading the code what it does.
The issue is that I use a Mac and enjoy Leopard but VS is obviously a Microsoft product.
I'm contemplating switching my Macbook to Vista.
The thing is, I don't really know where the industry is on this all. I'm assuming Java and Visual Studio are probably the 2 top developers tools for the web.
I've tried my hand in PHP but I don't quite get it, I can edit code but coming up with things is hard.
Anyways, I guess my question is, what tools out there are more universal and easy to get in?
I'm pretty sure I'm just going to stick with VB.NET to develop the things I have in mind.
Running it in a VM is unacceptable.
Thanks
