Programming in a Palm

I want to make a checklist kind of thing to run in my palm. Does anyone know if there are any programs of making that kind of thing for a PDA?

I wrote one in VB for Palm a couple years ago for a client, it required a VB thingy to be loaded on the Palm, though, and the software wasn't cheap.
