Programmable/macroable mouse for OSX

I'm looking for direct experience from owners of highly programmable mice who use them under OSX.

I'm looking at the MS Sidewinder X8 and the Logitech G700 for their multitudes of macro-able buttons, but neither vendor is heavy on OSX support documentation.

Logitech actually displays the G700 when you ask for "Mac compatible mice" at the bottom of this page:

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/66/6052

But the support page only has driver downloads for Windows.

At any rate, please share any direct experiences with macros under OSX on those mice (or others). This is for mapping work functions (not gaming) to mouse buttons, if it matters.

I havent used either of those, but check out the software called steermouse. I think I paid $20 for it years ago and it has fixed all the screwy mouse movements that apple never bother to fix. It has pretty much full customization for 16 buttons or so.
