program to show wireless Signal strength numerically?

hi before my previous wifi card died, it had a useful utility that showed the signal strength numerically, which meant i could fiddle with the antenna until it was at its best..
the XP 5 bars isnt as accurate, and id like to change it if possible, or find some software to do so
