Howdy,

The association I work for has about 3700 members. We want to send out a monthly Email Newsletter. I'm not sure if we can paste that many email address into any normal email program like Outlook or Eudora or anything. Are there programs specifically made to do this that work well and support sending HTML formatted emails? If so can anyoen recommend any that are really easy to use?

The HTML email support is the most important thing because we are going to be pulling pictures from our website as well as having links and graphics and such.

Thanks.

Setup a "Group" in Outlook and add the selected members to it. Everytime you want to send the newsletter, just add the Group name and it will send to all members in that group.

Does Outlook have any problems with having that many email addresses in a group? I don't want to have it crash on me or anything. Heh.

NOTE: I edited my original post, I typwed in 1700 but I meant 3700 members...

Careful how you do this, if any of those 3700 people complain to your email ISP you could get in trouble. You need to have a way to opt out and make sure that it works properly.

There are non-spam email services for company use that let you update a database file then do the emailing for you. They also automate the opt-out process. If your association can afford monthly fees for something like this I can ask which service my employer is using.

I use a program called blat. It uses a text file of email addresses so each one is sent separately. That way there's no issue with how many it can handle.
