Program to scan cropped image without PREVIEW

If I use Microsoft Paint, first I have to click Preview in order to get the image, then it would automatically place the scan borders around the image.

If I hit the scan button without first pressing preview, then the whole scan area is scanned but I only want that business card that I put in the scanner to be scanned right off from one click without having to preview then scan again to save times as we have an optics shop and we need to scan 100s of drivers licenses per day

Any free software that can do this?

We have a Canon PIXMA MG4240 and the software that comes with it has that feature. but when I set it up on a new computer that we got, I couldn't for the life of me find that option. I selected Auto scan but it didn't do the trick

I would really appreciate some help here 🙁

I found one program but it's paid we don't need to pay to do such a simple task
I also tried XNVIEW and IrfanImage but it's the same

Irfanview linked to TWAIN. A cropped image is no different than any other image. The flatbed scanner will scan the entire area - the preview is essential to let the user limit the scan area. I do not personally kn ow of any free scanware that would do that automagically.

Op, as you mentioned, I've run across programs that do what you need included with specific scanners. You might try the website driver page for your scanner.

Tried VueScan, it did the trick after fiddling around with the settings for about 10 mins

Excellent!

I ended up buying it a while back because it was the only software that would do what I needed. Glad it's doing the trick for you as well!

yeah me too, don't you find it surprising that such a simple task like the one I wanted to achieve needs a paid software which is not exactly cheap! how OSes advance and so does hardware, yet we have to pay for simple things sometimes.

All my softwware is paid really but I didn't think it wa worth it to buy a freakin' *scanner* program. oh well....
