Program to monitor internet downtime?

My cable internet connection drops erractically. I would like to log all the drops over the course of several days and use the information to beat my cable company over the head with. Can anyone recommend a good, easy to use program? I'd like to make a chart from the data either in Excel or with the monitoring program itself.

Thanks.

Ping Plotter is good for this kind of thing. Do a ping to somewhere generic (www.yahoo.com) and find the next hop out there beyond your cable modem. Ping it constantly, and you'll see what it's uptime is, etc. Produces a nice little graph at the bottom and can be exported for use in excel, etc. It's simple and free! There's lots of other apps out there - What's Up Gold, etc. but they are overkill for your needs.

Holy cow, I've tried two drifferent programs now and it's incredible how bad my service is! I guess I just never noticed how bad it really was because a lot of my disconnects are too short to interrupt a transfer.

red is bad

Yes, that's pretty horrid. I hardly ever see any drops on my Comcast cable modem. Definitely time to call the company!
