Not sure exactly what you mean, and this won't help. But where I use to work somebody sent around this email attachment and when you opened it, it maxed the volume. Hehehe nothing like opening it expecting a report to get your speakers BLASTING.

You can max the volume easily in Control Panel. That can also put a speaker icon in the try and let you easily change all the audio settings. But! You can't make the volume greater than the driving force behind it unless you feed to an external amp and go from there.

Ok... here's what you do... you may find a little bitty nob somewhere on the outside of your friend's computer speakers (probably some where on the front). You need to turn this nob clockwise (or counter clockwise if you are standing behind the speaker). If that doesn't work, you need to find a button that says POWER, or ON or PUSH THIS... if none of these are present, you need to run and buy some computer speakers - yes they generally come with a little cable that plugs somewhere in your friend's computer.

If you are still at a loss... read my signature

EDIT: almost forgot... if you absolutely need to increase volume from software, try START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, SOUNDS

hey asshole thanx, for that great insight into speakers i ahdnt realized thats how nthey worked, now why dont u go sit in the back cause all that witty sarcasim must have caused u alot of mental stress.

and to all of those who werent be asshats, i meant is there a program that can boost the signal coming form the computer, basicly is there a way to run a program as an amplifier? I doubt one exsits but would be easier than getting an external amp

Whoa whoa whoa... relax man! I was totally joking! Didn't mean for you to flip out on this one - didn't think you'd take it that seriously anyway! As far as sarcasm and mental stress - it doesn't bother me one bit.

As far as running sound at a higher volume... you can't go above and beyond what your mobo supports. I would suggest taking the signal from your mobo and pushing it with an external amp or using powered speakers (I'm assuming you are using passive speakers). So in essence, I wasn't being fasicious when I was talking about getting new speakers. Your volume control in your OS will be your highest setting (don't know why you'd want higher anyway).

So, anyway - if I offended, I apologize - but you really need to learn how to take a joke man!
