I am a newbie who wants to build a new computer with P4P800 motherboard, P4 2.6 Ghz CPU and 512 mb memory. I want to use dual channel memory. My local dealer says that he has fast no-name PC3200 memory that he can sell for a lower price than the brand name modules.

Is there any good program that would allow me to find out if it is PC 3200 or not?

As well, is there any program that identifies the latency speed of these modules?

I do not want to overclock. Stability is my main priority.

I'd avoid it like the plague. I've got a box full of bad memory I accumulated before I learned that cheap, no name memory costs twice as much in the long run. Stick with name brand like Crucial, Kingston, Corsair, etc.

Doomer's spot-on. Don't even think about messing with cheap no-name RAM. These 875/865 mobos are sensitive to RAM anyway, the last thing you need is to throw some cheap crap into the mix. Stick with the brands that Doomer recommended and you'll be way happier in the long run.
