I have a Swann 1080p security system, I have some footage I need to trim up and also cut some still images from. The Swann viewer is worthless and the only other program I have is VLC, but I can't edit with VLC (or at least I can't see how.)

Is there a free or low-cost viewer that can do this?

Thanks!

Well, I edit with VLC all the time. You need the VLC video editor because they have different types. There should be an option above the line that says TRIM. Click on that and it will open a window that allows you to trim the video.

VLC has different video software including Remaker which I like because after you have edited the video, you can trim it again with Remaker without having to format the video again so it will then only take a couple of minutes to do so.

We'll give Movie Maker a try...

Unless I'm missing something, the VLC video editor isn't even in Beta yet... or am I looking at the wrong thing?
