program to check if the parts are used

Is there a program or some way to see if a new computer's parts are new or used?
I remember a program that shows how many hours I've been using each hard drive.
Does anyone know this program and something similar for the other computer parts?

S.M.A.R.T. is a monitoring technology for hard drives and SSDs that counts power on hours: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T.

Other PC components don't have S.M.A.R.T. technology which monitors power on hours.

With video cards you can check the fans for built up dust, same for the HSF. CPU's you can look for browning spots on the contacts. SMART will get you accurate info on disks, its the only part that will reliably give you information about its power on hours. Everything else you have to physically inspect it to make a "guess".

I have an odometer on my motherboard, but I think it's broken because it always reads "Z270 Taichi Rev. 1.0".

Maybe that's the hours in binary or something, I'm just not sure.

Seriously, buying used computer components (or anything for that matter) has some risk involved. But you can usually tell how the item was treated by the condition it is in.
