program to adjust screen size?

IS there such a thing as a program around that will set your screen size??? like, you set it to such and such a resoultion but you want the screen smaller.. that's what i'm looking for..

No you'd have to use hardware adjustments on the monitor to make the screen larger or smaller at the same resolution.
