Program reporting wrong.

Well I just got my Gigabyte DS3 and Conroe E6400. I seem to be having some trouble overclocking. Basically I go into the BIOS and set the options and and coming back into windows the program CPUZ is showing it at 1600MHZ and only 6x multiplier. However it shows the FSB correctly. Easytune is showing 2152MHZ but wont show the CPU Ratio.

Is CPUZ outdated or something? Need help asap.

EDIT: Also as soon as I open the program it shows the speeds it should be at, but then goes back to the 6x multiplier and lower speed.

It's probably the programs you're using. I had them same problem trying to find something that would report my temps correctly. The BIOS shows it right (usually).

SpeedStep does sound logical considering it changes back when using Prime95. Thanks. 🙂
