Program position

Sorry if this has been asked before, i searched on the forums and on google but found no answer to my problem.. anyways I am wondering if there is a way.... of any form, (command, program, etc) that will allow me to force programs to remember their position. i.e. i want xfire (a gaming IM prog) to load in the bottom left hand corner but it doesnt remember the exact spot. Thanks in advance
