program.exe has generated errors. Is this a win2k problem or can hardware cause this?

Subject says it all. I ONLY get them running 3d apps... (that is, I get them EVERY time I run a 3d app, game or other, whereas I get like 2 a month outside of the 3d realm)

thanks

Actually that usually happens when a progrma crashes but the app exits before Dr. Watson can identify what it is. For example if Half-Life crashes, but windows is able to recover to the desktop before Dr. Watson can identify the program, it will give that "<program.exe> has caused an error..." (notice the "<>" around the program name).

hi was being generic. As in any 3d program I run I get an error with <programname.exe> has generated errors and will be shut down...

thanks
