Progeny suitable for newbies?

I'm looking into a distro suitable for users who are new to Linux.
These users are "typical" windows users, if you get my drift. 😉

My current list:
Mandrake 8
RH 7.1
I know these two are newbie friendly and have good hardware detection.

But I was wondering about Progeny.
I know it is based on debian so package management would be very easy for newbies.
Does anyone have experience with Progeny?

How does it install?
Hardware detection any good?
What is the result like?

[edit: changed title]

I like progeny a lot, I am switching either to that or mandrake8.x when I build my new system shortly.

Progeny IS Debian, progeny was founded by the creator of debian, and is 100% compliant w/ debian. (this is a good thing)
the instal is a little tricky but much easier than debian.

I'd reccomend LM8.0 for newbies though

PM me for more info if you need it

EDIT: I run SUSE 7.2 now
