Hey.. just did a ps -aux on my box to see if seti was running (just put it in crontab, would I even see it?) and I noticed this.... I don't know what it is, or if I ever remember seeing it before.. can someone let me know if this is okay. This is my server here at home, gateway etc... thanks.

It's just an FTP server. Most distributions seem to either install this one or WuFTP defaultly. You can probably remove it (though I leave it running on my machine so I can transfer files if I need it) . . . what distro are you running?

I thought all distros install wuftp (and none proftpd) that is why I suggested there has been some tampering.

I'm almost positive Slackware installs ProFTP instead of WuFTP (I think I saw Wu in the pasture folder earlier today which is where the older abandoned stuff goes. It was in there with Xfree86 3.3.6 for example).

Oh okay, thanks. Yeah, actually, that should have been plain as day, jeez. Yeah, I'm running an ftp server, it's a Debian box.
