hehe, this cracked me up. if i remember correctly, graphing calculators would not have helped on my calc exams because they were all proof-ish questions.

same here...with some variation of pi:p

count me in exponentially on that laughter variable......YEAH

I need some input on this...should i just drop the class and look for another professor or is this perfectly normal?

You shouldn't need any sort of calculator at all

1) You should be able to do arithmetic
2) You should be able to graph any of the menail functions you'll see on a test
3) You should be able to do the calculus (it's calc 2 so you REALLY won't need a calculator at all, that's easy)

Why do you feel that you need a graphic calculator?

false..
The ti89 can really help in those tricky/messy integration problems.

Sorry, I guess your prof wants you to, you know, actually understand the material.

the prob with the graphing calculators is that they do all the work for you. i guess your professor actually wants you to learn the material.

yep, science majors usually won't let you use anything but scientific or 4 function calculators.

Points and laught at all the accounting/econ majors and runs away:laugh:

Man, I wish I could have used my Ti89 when I was doing triple integrals.

It's college, you have to do all of it by hand here so you can use machines later :)
