Professional Soundcards?

Can anyone shed some light on purchasing professional soundcards for digital studio purposes or at least on par with it? How much do they cost? Where can you get it? etc. My knowledge of soundcards only includes soundblaster. lol.

What exactly are you looking for? What exactly are you wanting to do?

If you are planning on having a professional digital studio in a computer, you will need to look at getting an entire system for that purpose, I would suggest a Mac. If you are looking at smaller scale, you may want a PC though probably still a Mac, just not the top of the line. If you are just doing it as a side thing, getting a pro-sumer level card may be adequate.

Here's a List at Musician's friend for comparison's sake. I'm looking at the DM6 fire from Terratec myself, more a Pro-sumer level card actually, nice balance between performance/price/features. You can see, they can cost as much has you can spend.
