I am into IT and my manager always says "to be Professional".

Please add your comments on what is "to be Professional" and
what qualities make you a Professional?

Wear free t shirt you got from trade shows and khaki from old navy to work. When asked by lower life forms to solve user created errors, be sure to scream at them and make them cry.

Complaining (too much/often) is unprofessional
Always call/reply to queries promptly
Never say "I Cant", always "I'll look into it" or "I'll find someone who knows", etc.
Slacks/dress shirt/tie
Computer desktop should be neat, no "neat" desktop picture. (personal preference)
Always be on time
Always have good input
Don't interrupt someone when they are talking

yeah, the don't interrupt somebody when they're talking is a big one. Its just common courtesy.

That and don't just run up to people and interrupt their conversation but just starting to yap away. If it is urgent and you need to interrupt simply say "excuse me, can I ask you a quick question"

Not posting on forums while at work. That's gotta be in the manual somewhere...
