I need to pick up a plan with 1 million dollars in coverage but really don't know where to start. Yes, I've googled Professional Liability Insurance, but too many of the site's are trying to sell me something. Can someone point me either to a reputable national broker or a website/authority so I can become more educated on the subject?

Thanks
AE

Just call some insurance brokers from your local business pages to get some quotes. One million is pretty standard and cheap.

I use my local StateFarm agent when a client demands the coverage.

When the project is down; a phone call turns it off. (3 month time frames).

I own a Independent Insurance Adjusting business. I have 1 mil general liability and 1 mil errors and ommisions with this agent.

http://www.amisinsurance.com/

Check out their page. They offer coverage for a lot of different businesses.

I switched to them this year. Annual premium is around $850. Previous years premium was around $2,250 with same coverage with large national insurance co.
