No sh*t. I've got a buddy who built a monster 454 for his Firebird (we give him a lot of crap about having a $20,000 engine in a $2,000 car ). He launched it a few times on a back road one day and I about lost my lunch.

Of course, just about any production motorcycle will do 0-60 in 4 or less and the 1/4 in less than 11 seconds.

Define production.

Caterham has a couple that will do it and one that is less than 4 seconds. Of course all of the cars are under 250 hp.
Radical's street legal SR3 can do it.
Westfield's Megabusa, Seight and XTR 2 can do it.

I got a chance to drive an A6 2.7T over Xmas. As fast as that thing is, I can only imagine the S6 or RS6 must be brutal. Hell, the A6 pulls hard right through 100 if you keep your foot down. Very impressive.

The Z06 is 4 flat IIRC, with the regular 6-spd a half second or so slower.

[EDIT]I'm not finding solid numbers on the Z06, but it's most definitely under 5 - FAR under 5.[/EDIT]

The perfect blent of grip and give.

I don't think a Lightning can do it in under 5 seconds. 5.5 seems reasonable but 5 flat doesn't. Modded yes but not from factory. (I'm sure John can chime in and tell us if his can or not)
