product key for photoshop 6

I have misplaced my product key for my copy of photshop 6. Is it imbedded within the program itself?? i have it currently installed and I would like to reformat my machine with a new OS. Any help appreciated. mark

Does it show it in the About dialog? Try emailing Adobe about it.

He's right. Help > About Photoshop . You'll see the serial number in the bottom right.

Even if you don't have the serial number, you can copy the Photoshop6 folder from ProgramFiles onto a CD, then put it back on your drive with the new Windows install. It will still work once you run it (this used to work on a Mac about 6 years ago, good thing Adobe at least keeps this part of Photoshop consistent...LOL )...the only thing is that some of your third party plug-ins may not work once you do this.

I believe it displays on the splash screen. It does on Elements 2 so maybe PS is the same since it is the same engine.
