I am interested in purchasing a Macbook Pro and was wondering how often Apple releases new versions of them.

Do they only release them once a year during Macworld or do they have multiple releases throughout the year?

Apple product refresh dates are always shrouded in mystery. If I were you though, I would wait at least until June, when the new Montevina chipset comes out. It stands to reason that Apple will update to the latest chipset rather quickly on the MacBook Pro. They usually do.

Ok, I might be losing my mind or was a victim of an April Fools Joke but I remember seeing an article on Digg that said that they new LED Macbooks suffered from a color depth problem that reduced their overall color depth by something like 80% compared to previous generations. Has anyone heard of this?

June, probably during WWDC. 80% if there is anything about that it wouldn't be by that much.
