Do any of you remember when prodigy was the best source of chat for the general population. I was a charter member. At first there were about 300 regular members. One chat room. It then expanded to more and more Chat rooms over the next year. It was so fun in the beginning. Still fun now but I would love to know how those people I first talked to have progressed. I had a of the line 486 dx25. I think it cost me aroud $3000 for my setup with the best 1200 baud modem.

I met a chick from Chicago on Prodigy back in those early 90s. We kept in touch throughout HS and college. Shockingly, I finally met her 2 years ago in person. I'm not the kind to go seeking for love on the Internet so I never even brought it up... she's a pretty hot looking Filipino chick... who eventually found her man in CA. She'll be coming to my wedding in Sept.

Prodigy, CompuServe and AOL were for wussies. :D

I recall, when I was like 12, this one BBS with 4 lines (30 minute daily limit :() was connected to another BBS (revolutionary at the time) that had another 5 lines. 9 people in one chat room!!!!

Before Compuserve and AOL you could not get on BBS without going through a school. I'm talking about the general population. I was finished with school.

Anyone could dial into a local BBS where I lived. You just had to know what you were doing.
