Processor upgrade old laptop

I have a Dell Latitude XPi CD M133ST laptop computer. Currently it has a Pentium 133 MMX. I have an old Pentium 200mmx processor laying around. Anyone know if its possible to upgrade the cpu?

I looked at the technical specs from dell and cant tell if the processor is in a zif socket or not. I got the laptop for free so I'm not worried if I screw it up =)

I wouldn't bother. Back then they might have soldered the chips in. Even if they didn't, boards like that usually don't auto-detect new CPU's. IIRC, you had to set specific jumpers to specify bus speed & what not. Without a detailed mobo manual, you were out of luck. If it ain't broke don't fix it 😉

and the speed gain still wouldnt be significant enough to even warrant using the laptop in todays world as anything more then a glorified typewriter, which is what it can be used for as it is
