Processor Temps for P 2.6C with stock Intel cooling

I just turned on my new P4C800-E Deluxe with P 2.6C and stock Intel heat sink and CPU fan. CPU temperature has stabilized at about 42 C with a case temp of 23 C. Can anyone tell me if 42 C is a typical temp for such a setup? I would be especially interested in hearing from someone with the same setup. This is the first time I have installed a processor and heat sink on a motherboard. I hope I've gotten it right. Thanks -

Where did you get the temp reading, in the bios ?

Asus probe gives my CPU idle temp at 30 C and on load 53 C.
42 C at idle is a bit high, but I know my bios also say 42 C.

I looked at my ASUS probe CPU temp and it reads between 33 and 44 C depending on CPU load. The ASUS probe reads about 5 C lower than the BIOS. It looks like the heat sink is installed reasonably correctly and I'm safe to operate. Thanks for the information you provided.
