Hi, at a competition recently i won a video card and an Intel SE440BX-2 motherboard, which supports 66 and 100 MHz system bus speeds. It says it's optimized for Pentium II's but will support a Pentium III as well... what would be a good processor for it?

Maybe a PIII 650E? Depends on how much you have to spend on a CPU. To run at 100 Mhz FSB you will need a "E" type PIII.

I think the fastest P3's with 100mhz FSB are 900, but those are going to be VERY hard to find. An 800 might be easier to come by, but it's going to cost you $250+ most likely. As mentioned in the above post, it just depends on how much you're willing/able to spend.

A Celeron 566A might be a good choice too, since you may be able to OC it to 850. I'm a bit hesitant about the PIIIs on a 100MHz FSB, since that hinders performance quite a bit.

Gee, it sounds like you could get a AMD Athlon/Duron board and a Duron chip for less than what a pentium chip itself would cost you. And the duron would be able to overclock for way better performance than the pentium.
