Processor recommendation for dekstop computer for gamily - Intel i7 3930k or is 2500k

Hi friends,

In addition to the graphics card (see my other post), my friends Son has also asked me to buy him a processor.

He is a teenager living in India, I am in the USA. I will be travelling to India and will take it or an alternative for him. I am aware of the travel regulations.

He primarily uses his computer for gaming.

He has asked me to get - Intel i7-3930k or in intel i5 2500k sandy bridge

Can you please recommend either of these or another option? Anything newer or better value for money?

I am planning to buy it on amazon or newegg, unless there are other suggestions.

If you're going to get an Ivy Bridge processor, make sure that his motherboard can take one without a BIOS update. (Z77 or similar chipset.)
