Alright, below is my current build. But I'm not sure with which memory I would be best off with. I want good memory for OCing and gaming and I want basically the best dollar/performance ratio. I dont want memory that's not being taken advantage of if you know what i'm saying. Also I'm stuck between the Q6600 and the E8500... It seems that the e8500 may be a little faster but which do you guys think I should go with?

Thank You

Do you play games a lot? If yes, go with 8500. Otherwise I think the Q6600 will do pretty good job and last longer.
In my opinion, I will go with quadcore eventhough I play games.

If you already plan to overclock, what about an E8400 with the FSB at 800 MHz? That works for most people and gives you 3.6 GHz which seems "good enough."

If you OC the Q6600 the same amount you only reach the 3 GHz stock speed of the E8400.

Games aren't likely to benefit much from the extra 2 cores any time soon. Remember that code has to not only use the extra cores but also use them enough to make up the clock speed difference.

E8400, G.Skill DDR2-1000 ($89 on newegg IIRC), Western Digital 640GB Caviar drive.

Also, if you're overclocking, get an aftermarket cooler like the Xigmatec Rifle 120mm.

so you guys think that the e8400 would be better than the e8500? I could always upgrade to quad core later if I wanted to. Could anyone elaborate? Would I be able to overclock the e8400 past that of the e8500?

It's not "better", it's cheaper and almost as good. You could indeed upgrade later on. You could indeed overclock the E8400 past that of the E8500, and then some, quite easily.
