Hi,

What do you think about the processor Intel Atom Z2760 for Windows 8 ?

I want to buy a tablet with this processor.

For example : Asus Vivotab Smart or HP Envy x2

I would use for a basic use.

Because I have a desktop PC with Windows 7 can to do all the tasks.

A basic use for me is :

Internet

Email

Software office and PDF

Good picture and video. i know that it's better with a real camera.

Is it a good idea to buy a tablet with this processor for my use ?

is very reliable and very stability.

no bug at each 5 minutes.

Is it better to wait a next generation of processor ?

I dont want to pay too much money for a second computer.

Thank-you !

go ipad 4, nexus 10, surface/pro, or acer w700(or the w500 maniacal laughter), or even better is to wait until intel releases clovertrail plus, then compare options again.

I have one of these - fairly happy with it personally. I initially had the Asus but their update program was terrible - returned it for a H.P.

We have an Ipad , a couple of android tablets and the HP elitepad. My favorite is the W8 machine. Compared to my desktop I feel an occasional lag opening office programs but nothing terrible.

I have a fairly intensive blueprint takeoff program that I installed on it just to see how the machine would deal with it - actually ran it decently but the small screen doesn't allow me to really use it - at work I use a combination of a 27" and a 24" screen for this program.

I had an X2 for a while and was pretty happy with it, traded in for the elitepad mostly for the screen format (16x10).

Just be aware that even though you can use office on these tablets it is tough on the eyes, at least my 60 year old ones, trying to do any sort of real work in excel. Even a cheap capacitive pen really helps.

I read about clovertrail before buying this and would have preferred a Baytrail or Temash tablet, but needed (wanted) one a couple of months ago and didn't want to wait.

The problem with waiting on either Baytrail or Temash is trying to get some sort of reliable date on when the tablets will be available for purchase - and then paying the premium for one since they are new.

I have one, it runs decently but if you don't need it need it (I use OneNote a lot and my old TabletPC's batteries weren't cutting it anymore) I'd wait until the end of this year for the next-gen Atom parts.

I'd fork out the extra for a Acer W700, just for the better performance. The Asus VivoTab Smart and HP Envy x2 comes with a touch pad which seems redundant when W8 works better using a touch screen.

But my current personal preference when it comes to tablets would either be an iPad or Android based. The W8 experience as a whole is fragmented, much worse than Android. A decent Intel based 7" Android tablet like the Asus Fonepad or the Nexus 7 works really well if you're not keen on spending too much. If you're willing to splurge a little bit more, iPad 4.

says who?

Simple search will find you that Clover Trail+ is a direct Medfield successor which is for Smartphones. Since Smartphones use Android, you can use that to make Android Tablets as well. Don't be disappointed if you won't see Windows based Clover Trail+ based Tablets, because it doesn't support it.

I picked up an Acer Iconia W510, it has that atom processor.
Noticeably slower than my Ivy Bridge regular laptop but gets the job done.
Plays 1080p mkv movies perfectly fine though, actually nice on the IPS screen.

I can't find any sources to confirms this, do you have any?

Is it really better a tablet Windows 8 with a I 5 processor than to the Atom processeur ?

I could take the surface with a I5 processor and more expansive price than the others but less battery life.

I could take the Envy x2 with a Atom processor for a middle price but more battery life ?

my objective for a basic use.

More I think that the picture camera is better on the Envy X2 than the Surface Pro.

What would do you buy ?

i tried the envy in officemax and it still had the same annoying delays that atom chips are known for, so i would definitely pass on it. its better to get a haswell ultrabook

For a tablet at a price more affordable :

Is it better to take the Asus Tranformer pad TF700 for example ?

It's on the OS Android.

Its it a another very good choice ?

Thank-you !

Maybe the price of the Surface Pro will be down during the summer.

The price is too high and Microsoft team know it

To me the delays is cause more from the 2gb ram than the processor itself. I have the HP envy x2 and I found it not too bad compare to the old core2 laptops I have. The IE is take a little time to finish load the pages, but Chrome is load much faster. of course it can't compare to the desktop with i7 and 16gb rams.

I have office 2010 installed and it open pretty fast and the batteries last 8 hours when I play HD movies none stop. The GMA is bit weak, It can't play the large MKV blueray rips like the one that have 17GB for 2hours movie. and it occasion delay then play the 9GB blueray rips mkv files too. but the regular mp4 and avi and flv files are ok.
Cheers
