I have a Dell Desktop I bought in Early 05. I know its a 3Ghz P4 but I don't know the exact processor that I have. Is there a way I can find out which it is?

:p

if it was purchased new, it is most likely a LGA775 based prescott (530 - 531) or presler(630 - 631). download CPUZ and check, it should be able to identify what P4 you have.

You could run a program like CPU-Z, Everest, or Belarc Advisor. You could probably look up the model on Dell.com and figure it out.

I downloaded CPUZ and it's a Prescott 530 Processor. CPUZ says Max FSB 800mghz then it says running at 199mghz. Why would it only be running at 199?

Thanks for info on the CPU!

the FSB is quad pumped so multiply 199mhz (200) by four and you get 800mhz or close to it.
