Today I found out what I will be getting in terms of a gaming PC. This gaming PC will only be used for Star Wars : The Old Republic. I will also type up the occasional essay for school, and watch movies. But mainly for SWTOR. These are the things that I will be buying, as suggested by a friendly poster. The only thing I am concerned with is that I read some reviews on the Intel Core i3 and people are saying it's a weak processor that is bad for gaming. I would like some clarification on this. My budget is 700$. Here is my entire setup from scratch and you guys can let me know if the processor is not a good match for the other stuff. If you have any other comments about the stuff I am going to buy, please let me know so I don't make an unwise purchase. Thanks! (By the way, I am a beginner and this is the first PC I have ever owned myself so I don't know many computer vocabulary words if you're going to post any)

Where did you read that the i3 is weak? It is definitely not!

Realistically, the i3-2100 is overkill for SWTOR. It only starts to top out when it is matched with a $300+ graphics card.

i3-2100 is a great choice, and is perfectly paired with a HD6850 video card. Great choice! (Thats what I run!)

He has enough money to go with an i5 2400
and also FILL OUT THE STICKY

He did in the other thread (where I ran the build for him)

It was $650 (needing monitor).
Ordering in the US.
No reused parts.
For SW:TOR only.

He upped the budget to $700 and I got him in at $720 with $55 in MIR. (And my cart jumped to $740 an hour after he ordered it and lost a $25 MIR, so we got him in right under the buzzer)

It was pretty hot with a 23" Hanspree monitor for $120 and a z68 mobo that was $65 after combo and rebate.

OP, go and laugh at those who said that the i3 sucks for gaming. Use these:

The i3 is smokin' fast per core. It only has two core, but the fact is most games only really use two cores!

The i3 2100 can play with the big boys.

It's probable that none of your build's detractors are running i5 2500k's or 2600k's with a 6950, and even less likely that they have a Gen 3 SSD (like you do). So your rig is going to be faster than theirs.
