This might be a stupid question but does a processor fan usually blow air off or suck air onto the processor? I have a Thermaltake Volcano 6cu+
 
Usually blows air onto/into the heat sink. There are some people, though, who get better results the other way. A lot depends on your case and air flow. Try it both ways. Neither way will hurt anything.
 
Generally you have it blow onto the heatsink. The sucking idea only really works with Alpha heatsinks with a shroud.
