Can somebody help me out? I was playing a game and was using a macro program, but the macro program kept interfering and I couldn't turn it off, so I logged out. Now, when I enter any games at all it shows in my task manager the processing usage is at a %100?? Why is this happening, and how can I fix it?

Thanks.

not at all.. 53 gigs left, and I haven't replaced anything in my system. It just happened 1 hour ago. I also defragged my system.

games always use up as much cpu as they can. (at least that's what win2k task manager tells me after i load HL/CS, Q3A, etc)

Are you running any distributed clients like Seti@home, Folding@home or the UD Think project?

I find the same 100% usage when I run MS Access databases. I think only lately, and only on systems with K7 processors. Heats the cpu up more than Prime95. I'd love to see an explanation for this.

before when I ran games it went at %20, I am not running any distrubutive clients or anything that can boggle down all this cpu usage.. when I am out of games it goes back to %1 and everything is fine, but when I get into the game it spikes to %100. It dosen't seem to bogging down the system since I can still minimize the game and surf the net, but it seems stranger and harmful to my computer. Any ideas?

Oh ya.. I have a palomino 1800..

Also here is my rig specs

Pull up the task manager and kill a process one by one till you find the culprit.

Try reinstalling your game, or looking for any patches?

Backup any saves first.

Most games use 100% processor. Do your games work. It's no big deal. It's due to the real time nature of games.
