I'm not very fluent in all the memory and AMD fsb speeds anymore and am not very familiar with Dual DDR.

I am not interested in overclocking. What I'm looking for is processor and ram combinations that will work with this motherboard.

I'm also not looking to spend an arm and a leg. Preferably like $150 for the processor and about $200 or so for the RAM.

Can anyone help?

TIA

Really depends on what you want, any Athlon XP will work, but Barton Cores would be the best. The 2500+ is very popular and is $80 for the retail version. As far as ram, you will probably get a bunch of people saying that you need $300 ram, but if you arent going to overclock, just go with 2 sticks of name brand pc3200 (400mhz) and you should be fine.

Thanks for the reply.

When I said $200 for ram I should have specified that I was looking for 512MB or 1GB, cost will be the factor.

I'm assuming that for DualDDR I have to buy two matching sticks of RAM. Since the NF7-S only has 3 DIMM slots I guess if I want 1GB I'd better go ahead and spring two 512MB DIMMS. Or can I buy one stick of 512MB and then switch to DualDDR when I get around to buying a second one?

Yes, you can use one 512mb stick and always add another one later to enable dual channel. But don't worry about dual channel on NF7-S. Makes virtually no difference on AMD system unless you're running IGP. NF7-S doesn't have IGP.

If you're not overclocking then buy any cheap brand name memory like Crucial, Samsung, and etc. Any 512 mb PC2700 or 3200 will do. I would get Barton XP2500+. Both the memory and processor should cost you around $160 shipped total.
