LOL! Here we go again on the "processed foods are bad!" Eating processed meats is going to give you cancer so from now on you are to avoid the following. I wonder if this is secretly funded by the poultry industry?
http://www.totalhealthbreakthroughs...declared-too-dangerous-for-human-consumption/
* Beef jerky
* Bacon
* Sausage
* Hot dogs
* Sandwich meat
* Frozen pizza with meat
* Canned soups with meat
* Frozen meals with meat
* Ravioli and meat pasta foods
* Kid’s meals containing red meat
* Sandwich meat used at popular restaurants
* Nearly all red meats sold at public schools, restaurants, hospitals, hotels and theme parks

So abandon your beef jerky, your bacon, your sausage because it's going to give you butt cancer.

The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has just completed a detailed review of more than 7,000 clinical studies covering links between diet and cancer. Its conclusion is rocking the health world with startling bluntness: Processed meats are too dangerous for human consumption. Consumers should stop buying and eating all processed meat products for the rest of their lives.

I only skimmed the article, but it sounds like the only thing that makes processed meat dangerous is sodium nitrate, which only serves to make the food "look fresh".

So what's wrong with pointing out that food is made dangerous by something that serves no purpose than making meat look like its "supposed to"? I'd rather my food was healthy instead of looking healthy.

Sodium nitrite is critical to preventing Botulism. It's critical in the curing process.

I buy bacon that says "contains no nitrates or preservatives"

So, 7000 clinical studies isn't good enough for you? Need one more?

I'm not saying the World Cancer Research Fund is a front to funnel money to international terrorist organizations, but they have yet to deny these allegations.

Ah, okay, you're totally right about it being a fear mongering article then. 🙂 If they didn't use that preservative, then the article would be "Don't eat processed meat, they're trying to feed you botulism!"

No way in hell I'm giving up the stuff on that list. I don't care if it has arsenic in it I'm still gonna eats me mah sausagez.
