I finished setting up my new rig, double checked all the connections, and turned the power on successfully. The computer booted up, recognized the processor, memory etc...

Could somebody recommend an online guide that would take a newbie from this point forward?

What are the next steps? Things to look for? Dangers?

Thanks for your time.

I love the irony of how Nipples is currently using the Blindfold Man AVITAR and he is asking how to build his first PC!

The Next Step is to Install the Operating System

Things to look for are Slow performane and un-expected hiccups

Dangers to look out for are ESD- Electro-static Discharge

I always keep the case open while I am installing the OS. Once I have the OS up and patched to the latest service pack, I install motherboard monitor to check CPU temps. Also, make sure you install anti-virus software and a personal firewall software BEFORE you connect your system to the internet for the first time.
