Proceedure for upgrading to new router

Currently having problems with my current router (Linksys DI-624)... Signal strength that was minimal is now almost nonexistent and I keep getting dropped connections, etc...

Thinking of upgrading to Buffalo WHR-HP-G54.

What is the proper procedure to make a router switch without creating issues... (software uninstalle, reinstall, hardware setup, etc)...?

Nothing has to be done on the computer if you use the Router's DHCP.

Write down special setting that you did on the current router.

Like which ports you forward, Mac number if you used MAC filter and similar setting that you entered to the Router.

If the Router does the Broadband authentication (Id & PW) make sure that you have it too.
